Pennsylvania, Harrisburg Mission, Here he comes!

Pennsylvania, Harrisburg Mission! My son is headed to an amazing place. In his mission is Gettysburg's, the Sesquahanna River, Hershy, Lancaster County. So much history took place in that area. I am so excited for him, and for all the cool quilting material I can get. He leaves on December 3 and we are frantically trying to have him ready.

The Missionary & the WAIT!

Clayton will kill me for this photo, but that is part of the joy of being the mom. I just thought I would write down some of my crazy feelings at this time. Clayton has turned in his papers to serve a 2 year mission for our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We are waiting anxiously to hear where he will be called to serve. I have waited his whole life for this opportuntiy, and I am so excited for him, and yet I will miss him terribly!

Laurel Trip

SMILE! "Spiritually minded is life eternal." 2 Nephi 9:39. This was the theme of our weekend. We had a great time. We stayed at the Palazzo Hotel on the 41st floor, swam, rode in a limo, ate dinner at the top of the Stratosphere, watched the water show at the Belagio, went through museums, ate dessert and Godiva chocolate at 11:30 at night, went on gondola rides and really nourished our souls in the gospel.
I have been so blessed to have been able to work with these young women, and their leaders. They have strengthened my testimony, lifted my feeble knees, and followed where I have led. Thank You!

The Graduate!

I do not know if you can see the face, but Clayton was not the most excited of the 780 graduates.

His mother and father were very excited!
His brother and sisters were excited to try on the "death eater" robes.

Quilts

My new crazy obsession, QUILTING. I needed something that would let me use my creative juices, while not depleting my pocket book. These are three of the 12 I have done since January. I think I need to try something new, or hurry and finish the 6 I have started, or at least the fabric for, before my kids are home for summer. Help!

The Ark

My Husband, the tiger! Roar! Our stake put on the play, THE ARK this year. Robert was one of the animals on board. I had so many comments on how animated he was, and that he had missed his true calling. He has always been a great preform er. Lauren got to be one of the monkeys. I do not have her in her costume, but Bishop Ballard captured her dancing with her dad on stage after one of the performances. I am so glad my daughter loves to dance!

Lucy

For all those of you who doubted that I could keep a dog, may I present Lucy. She is a Yorkie, and has brought a great deal of love with her. All of us tend to spoil her rotten, especially Robert. I guess she is our newest child.

Volleyball 2008

Springtime at the Worthen home means Volleyball! I love to watch the boys play, except when I am too nervous to open my eyes. I will fill in the details later, I do not want to jinx anything.

Spring Break 2008

For spring break, Spencer, Megan, Lauren, Christine, Jake and I headed to beautiful Southern California for a crazy, wet week. We visited Universal Studios and thought we might lose Lauren to heart failure from the back lot tour. (i.e. the earthquake, King Kong sighting, and the flood) But she survived long enough to land two trips on the Jurassic Park 84 foot waterfall ride.

We also traveled to San Diego to enjoy Sea World. We even ate dinner pool side with Shamu. I left with soaking wet shoes. Nothing like "Journey to Atlantis" and "Ship Wreck Rapids" to leave your clothes dry!
We also went over to Coronado. I think this is probably my favorite place to be. I love the smell and peace that comes with the ocean.
